Tourmaline is a mineral supergroup that consists of groups, subgroups, and 30+ species. It is known for its wide range of colors and unique properties. Tourmalines are piezoelectric as well as pyroelectric (they generate electricity when placed under pressure and heated). They also generate an electrostatic charge when rubbed. It is classed trigonal and has a hardness of 7-7.5 on the Mohs scale.

Generally, Tourmalines are associated with protection, healing, and balancing energies. Black Tourmaline is well known for its grounding effects and is widely used for protection and transmutation of negative energies. Pink, Green, and Watermelon Tourmalines are known for their heart-activating and stimulation of pure joy.
