Pyrite (AKA Fool's Gold) is the most abundant of all sulfide minerals. It occurs in nearly all rock types and most geological environments. Cubic formations that look as though they've been carved are perhaps the most prized. It is classed isometric/cubic and has a hardness of 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale.
