Sodalite is actually the name of a group of minerals with a similar isometric structure and related chemistry. Its most common member is named sodalite. The sodalite group is a member of the feldspathoid minerals. Sodalite can be confused with Lapis Lazuli because there is actually Sodalite in Lapis! It has a hardness of 5.5-6 on the Mohs scale.
Sodalite is a stone of inspired insight, intuitive abilities, and strengthening mental powers. Sodalite is said to be helpful when working to improve your self-discipline & organization, reinforce 'witness consciousness', and to spark 'aha moments'.
